Geoinformatics, Smart spaces

In the research area of geoinformatics, smart cities and smart buildings at Aalto University, our goals include:

  • analysis, modeling and visualization of geographic information
  • locating and positioning methods and their development

Our applications are in cities, transportation, emergency services, crisis management, military defense, and smart buildings. The concept of smart cities refers to the use of telecommunications, ICT, data bases, identification and imaging methods, and the mining and modeling of geoinformation.
